Roof replacement and repair

Your roof takes Arkansas heat, humidity, hail, and wind every year. When it’s time for repair or a new roof, the parts that matter most are the ones you’ll never see again once the shingles go on: underlayment, flashing, drip edge, ventilation, and nailing. That’s where we take our time. Roof replacements are installed by roofing crews Adam has worked with for 5 to 10 years, and Adam handles repairs himself. Either way, he’s the person you’ll talk to from start to finish.

What we install and repair

  • Architectural shingles. The most common choice around Greater Arkansas. They have a dimensional look, come in lots of colors, and carry solid wind ratings when they’re installed to spec.
  • Impact-rated (Class 4) shingles. Built and tested to resist hail better than standard shingles. They cost more, and we’ll explain the trade-off plainly.
  • Designer shingles. These have heavier profiles and a bolder look, for homes where curb appeal is a priority.
  • Metal roofing. Standing seam and exposed-fastener systems for homeowners who want a long-service roof that handles heat well.
  • Repairs. Missing or damaged shingles, failed flashing around chimneys and pipes, leaks, and storm damage that’s isolated to part of the roof.
  • The parts nobody sees. That means replacing decking where it’s soft or rotted, ice-and-water shield in the valleys, new drip edge, pipe boots, and ridge or attic ventilation.

How we build a roof

  1. Inspection and photos. We look at the roof, the attic where we can get to it, the flashing, and the gutters. You get photos of what we find, whether you need work or not.
  2. Written estimate. Shingle line, color, underlayment, flashing, ventilation, and any decking allowance, all spelled out. Take your time and compare it with other bids.
  3. Written contract and permit. Scope, materials, price, and schedule in writing before we start. We pull the permit wherever your city or county requires one.
  4. Tear-off and deck check. We strip to the deck, replace soft or rotted decking, and photograph it.
  5. Built to the manufacturer’s instructions. Underlayment, ice-and-water shield, drip edge, starter, nailing pattern, flashing, and ventilation done the way the shingle maker specifies. For example, six nails per shingle where the manufacturer calls for it. Every hidden layer is photographed before it’s covered.
  6. Cleanup every day. We run a magnetic sweep for nails in the yard and driveway and haul off the debris.
  7. Final walkthrough. We walk the roof and the yard with you, finish the punch list, register the manufacturer’s warranty, and hand you your job folder.

Roofing FAQ

How much does a new roof cost in Greater Arkansas?

It depends on the roof’s size and pitch, how many layers we tear off, the condition of the decking underneath, and the material you choose. Steep or complicated roofs cost more. The only number that counts is a written estimate for your house, and we’ll give you one at no charge. Request your free written estimate.

Should I repair my roof or replace it?

If the damage is isolated, like a few missing shingles or a flashing leak around one pipe, a repair usually makes sense. If granules are wearing off across the whole roof, shingles are curling on every slope, or you’re patching it every year, replacement is usually the better money. We’ll photograph what we find and tell you plainly which one we’d do.

How long does a shingle roof last in Arkansas?

Heat, UV, and hail are hard on shingles here. Architectural shingles commonly give 20 to 30 years in Arkansas, and 3-tab shingles often less. Good attic ventilation and a proper install make a real difference.

Do I need a permit for a new roof?

Many cities and counties in Arkansas require one, including Pulaski County. We pull the permit wherever it’s required and schedule the inspections.

Do you work with insurance companies?

Yes. We start with an inspection and a written report with photos and our recommendations. We’ll meet your adjuster at the property and send them our updated scope and the building code requirements that apply, so your project is properly documented. When the work is done, we send the completion paperwork to your insurance company. Your claim is still between you and your insurer, and decisions about coverage are theirs.

How long will the job take?

Your schedule goes in the written contract. The time on the roof depends on its size, pitch, decking repairs, and weather. We’ll tell you the plan up front and clean up every day we’re there.
