Gutters that carry the water where it belongs

Arkansas gets a lot of rain, and your gutters should carry all of it away from the house. We size them for your roof, hang them securely, and pitch them so they drain, then back the work with a 2-year written workmanship warranty.

Gutter installation, replacement, and repair

New gutters are installed by crews Adam has worked with for 5 to 10 years, and Adam handles repairs himself. Either way, he’s the person you’ll deal with from start to finish.

  • New gutters. Seamless runs sized to your roof area and pitch. Large or steep roofs often need 6-inch gutters instead of 5-inch.
  • Downspouts. Enough of them, in the right places, with extensions that move water away from the foundation.
  • Hangers. Hidden hangers spaced the way the manufacturer calls for, to replace the old spikes that pull loose on many ’80s and ’90s homes.
  • Fascia repair. We replace rotted fascia before new gutters go up. Between the humidity and overflowing gutters, we see a lot of it around here.
  • Gutter guards. Micro-mesh guards usually handle pine needles and oak debris better than cheap screens. They cut down on cleaning, but they don’t end it.
  • Repairs. Leaking seams and corners, sagging runs, and bad pitch.

Our process

  1. Look and photograph. We check the gutters, fascia, downspouts, and where the water ends up.
  2. Written estimate. Size, material, hanger spacing, downspout locations, and any fascia repair, in writing.
  3. Written contract. Scope, materials, price, and schedule before we start.
  4. Fascia first. We replace any bad wood and photograph it.
  5. Install to spec. Gutters hung and pitched to the manufacturer’s instructions, with downspouts and extensions placed to carry water away.
  6. Water test and walkthrough. We run water through it with you, finish the punch list, and hand over your photos and warranty.

The Black Oak Standard on your gutters

  • Manufacturer instructions followed. Hanger spacing, fasteners, and pitch done to spec.
  • Photographed start to finish. That includes the fascia behind the gutter.
  • Final walkthrough before final payment. We test it with you before we call it done.
  • 2-year written workmanship warranty. On every completed project.

Gutter FAQ

Why are my gutters overflowing?

Clogs are the usual cause, but not the only one. Gutters that are too small for the roof, too few downspouts, bad pitch, or hangers pulling loose will all cause overflow, even when the gutters are clean.

Should I replace gutters when I replace my roof?

Often, yes. New drip edge and flashing tie into the gutter line, and doing both at once means the gutters only come down once. If your gutters are in good shape, we can work around them.

Are gutter guards worth it in Arkansas?

Under oaks and pines, good micro-mesh guards usually pay off in fewer cleanings. They still need an occasional surface cleaning. The price depends on the type of guard and how many feet of gutter you have, and we’ll spell it out in your free written estimate.

How often should gutters be cleaned here?

At least twice a year: late spring and after the fall leaves drop. Homes under oaks and pines often need a third cleaning in midsummer.

Do I need 6-inch gutters?

Big roof areas, steep pitches, and long runs often do. We size gutters to fit your roof, not to whatever happens to be on the truck.
