Siding replacement and repair

Siding is really a rain screen. The things that keep your walls dry sit behind it: the house wrap, the flashing at windows and doors, and the way each course laps the one below. Arkansas humidity finds every gap, so that’s where we’re careful. New siding is installed by crews Adam has worked with for 5 to 10 years, and Adam handles repairs himself. Either way, he’s your single point of contact.

  • Vinyl siding. A budget-friendly option that holds up well when it’s hung loose enough to move with the heat. Lighter colors are a smart pick on hot west walls.
  • Fiber cement siding. Heavier, harder to dent, and termite-proof. Installed with the clearances, fasteners, and joint details its manufacturer requires.
  • Trim, soffit, and fascia. We replace it where it’s soft or rotted and wrap it where that makes sense.
  • Repairs. Storm-damaged panels, cracked boards, and rotted sections replaced and matched as closely as the product allows.

Our process

  1. Walk-around and photos. We check the walls, trim, and window and door openings, and photograph soft spots and water damage.
  2. Written estimate. Product, color, trim, wrap, and flashing details in writing.
  3. Written contract. Scope, materials, price, and schedule before we start. Permits wherever they’re required.
  4. Tear-off and sheathing check. Damaged sheathing gets replaced and photographed before anything covers it.
  5. Wrap and flashing first. House wrap lapped correctly and openings flashed to the manufacturer’s instructions, photographed before siding goes on.
  6. Siding and trim. Fastened and spaced the way the maker specifies, with the site cleaned up every day.
  7. Final walkthrough and job folder. Punch list finished, photos and warranty handed over.

  • Photographed start to finish. You’ll see the wrap and flashing that ends up hidden.
  • Clean site, every day. We pick up nails, scraps, and old siding before we leave each day.
  • 2-year written workmanship warranty. On every completed project.

Siding FAQ

What does new siding cost in Arkansas?

It depends on how much wall area you have, the product you choose (vinyl costs less up front than fiber cement), and how much trim is involved. Water damage or bad sheathing found during tear-off also adds to the job, and we photograph it before anything covers it. Your written estimate is what counts. Get your free written estimate.

Vinyl or fiber cement: which is better here?

Neither is right for every house. Fiber cement handles hail, heat, and termites better and tends to help resale. Vinyl costs less up front and makes sense for rentals or tighter budgets. We’ll lay out the trade-offs for your home in writing.

Can you install new siding over the old siding?

Usually we don’t. Tearing off lets us find and fix water damage, replace bad sheathing, and flash the openings correctly. Some products don’t allow it at all.

Does fiber cement need painting?

Many fiber cement products come factory-finished and only need repainting years down the road. Primed-only boards need paint after install. We’ll tell you which you’re getting.
